School News

No School

The students will be off tomorrow in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday! School resumes on Tuesday. When the students return on Tuesday we begin the second semester! I can't believe that we are half way through the school year! Does that mean the Parish Festival is around the corner?

Youth News

Youth Night

Our next Youth Night will be TONIGHT January 15, 2012 from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Hoehle House.  Hope to see you there!

Java and Jesus

Join us on Wednesday, January 25 from 7:00-8:00 pm at Starbucks on Greentree Road for a tasty Starbucks beverage and a Youth Group meeting.

Donations for the Poor

On February 12, the Youth Ministry will participate in the Love Walk for the Poor. On the weekend of January 28 and 29, a donation box will be located in the lobby of the church for the following items that are needed: diapers, baby wipes, and non-perishable food items. These items will then be given out to the homeless and poor of our region by the Youth Ministry on February 12, during the Love Walk for the Poor. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Since 1990, more than $71 million dollars has been raised for local charities across the country through the Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that is transforming the time around Super Bowl weekend into the nation's largest celebration of giving and serving.

At the conclusion of all Masses on the weekend of February 4 and 5 members of the Youth Ministry will be collecting donations.  Every dollar donated will go directly to the Southwest Food Pantry. Last year in an incredible display of generosity by the parishioners of our parish, we were able to raise $1,483.23!  Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

Chains of Grace

The chains of grace are so powerful,
and yet so sweet,
that though they attract our heart,
they do not shackle our freedoms
—St. Francis de Sales

Children's Liturgy of the Word

There have been some interested adults who have come forward to volunteer for this ministry. If we have enough help we can schedule two Masses or more a month probably at the 10:00 am, and/or at the 12:15 pm Sunday Masses. We have the resources available, training is minimum and takes about 20 minutes to participate. You will still be “attending” Mass, the only difference is that the readings are from the Children's Lectionary.

Cost is $2150 and includes: roundtrip airfare from Pittsburgh, transfers by Deluxe Motor coach, 8 days accommodations in newer Pansion with breakfast and dinner, English speaking guide, all applicable taxes and an overnight in Dubrovnik.
