A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our semi-annual Appalachia Clothing Drive. We had an overwhelming response, and were able to share the donations with those in Kentucky as well as with the St. Vincent de Paul in our own area. An even greater thank you to Mr. Mauti for traveling to deliver the donations to Lee County Kentucky, where I know they are grateful for his and everyone's kindness & generosity. May God Bless each and every one of you and may you have a safe and blessed summer.
A huge thank you goes out to all the generous youth of the parish who contributed their time and talents to the Parish Festival. Your support helped to make the Festival a success!

“Death is not the ultimate tragedy of life. The ultimate tragedy is depersonalization-dying in an alien and sterile area separated from a loving hand.” Heartland Hospice provides compassionate care to patients who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses. Volunteers undergo a comprehensive training program giving them the self-confidence to feel comfortable as they interact with patients and families. Heartland is searching for qualified volunteers. The next training group is: September 29, October 6, 13 and 20, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Ft. Couch Middle School in Upper St. Clair. For more information or to register, call Jessica Ramish at 412-841-9679. We are please to announce that St. Margaret of Scotland School received an Elementary School Grant from the diocese in the amount of $18,000 for the next school year. This grant is given to our school as a result of it being in compliance with the diocesan requirements for subsidy and fund raising. We congratulate our school administration and especially our parents who work diligently with fundraising and volunteering for so many of our school activities. A word of thanks also goes out to our parishioners who so generously support our beloved school. This grant also represents the tremendous support given to our school by Bishop Zubik and the diocese.
St. Margaret School has completed another successful school year. So much of the wonderful success and legacy of our school is attributed to our faculty and our superb principal. Our school could not be as great as it is without the support of our parents who volunteer so much of their time and talent during the school year. We are also grateful for the financial support given to our school by our generous parishioners. As our children enjoy their summer vacation, we express our thanks to God for blessing our school with a terrific support system.
This weekend Sister Eugenia Horvath, of the Sisters of Notre Dame, will speak at all the Masses for the Mission Appeal. There will be a second collection taken up at all the Masses for this appeal. Checks may be made out to St. Margaret of Scotland.
A great time was had by the many people who came out to enjoy our Festival. It indeed was a “smashing” success with great crowds and ideal weather. A huge thank you goes out to the committee and everyone who supported this wonderful event! Everything went smoothly thanks to the tremendous group of volunteers who worked many hours during this event. May God's blessing come upon all of you.
